Joined May 8, I am a peps user. Been using it for about a year and a half. My verdict is still out. Using the V version now after starting with version 8. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There are most certainly a few bugs and the workflow requires many clicks. I am also not sure about the technology settings. I have a fanuc wire edm. It is a bit hit and miss and I have no real idea why. I have no experience with other wire edm software so I can't really give a great opinion Emma99 Plastic.

So 3 grand for the box and another 8 grand for Mastercam Wire I'm trying to do really simple things in the new software that were pretty easy to do in the old software, and I'm having a really hard time with it.
I mean really basic things like copying entities from one layer to another Why do they do these things to us Nothing is easy in the new software And this is supposed to be "better"?? I guess I have a looong looong learning curve ahead of me again. Long story short, it will take a million clicks within Mastercant to become efficient, and how do I know that I migrated from V9.

There's no way software this expensive and with a team of professional full time software engineers could consistently be so buggy if it weren't on purpose. WORST piece of software i've ever had the displeasure of working with. Yeh you're doing far more intensive crunching than my work was. Mine was mostly prismatics - electrical enclosures - so optirough optirest and a lot of 2D paths to finish. One file with all 6 faces - to operations with 5 or 6 stock models and verify to model to finish.
Some scanning but my go-to would always be flowline. Smaller files for smaller parts for the internals or sub-sea customers.
These maybe more complex shape but mostly lower qty of ops. Personally, I'm sure a lot of mcams instability was through a combination of people running minimum hardware and an internet connection. The latter being the main problem On that note, Mastercam, and I'm talking MCam here, also tends to crash. There's a few suggestions the VARs have about turning off update notifications or whatnot that you have to do every time , which possibly helps but it crashes anyway. We have a new theory though, that possibly it doesn't like MCam files that were made on older versions of the software.
